First Valentine's Day

Today E and C celebrated their first Valentine's day.  It is amazing to think that last year this time I was getting so excited for their arrival, and today we were able make valentines, love on each other, and celebrate the day.

Here is the valentine that I helped the girls make for their dad.  They each put their hand print on paper to create the heart, and then on the back I wrote a little poem for him.  It didn't turn out quite as neat as the one I used as an example (another great pintrest find!), but I love that we made it together and John took it to work with him.  Contact paper worked great for laminating it.

John's aunt sent us these most delicious cookies to decorate and eat.  They were incredibly tasty, so much so that most of them got eaten before we even got the icing open.  E and C even had a couple of tastes, their first sugar cookies.

Here are E and C, ready for Valentine's Day with their heart shirts and pink pants.  I have to say that having girls is really fun when it comes to dressing them, especially in pink hearts.

And I will leave you with my favorite moment of the day.  E gave C a hug this evening.  It was very sweet and such a wonderful example of love on this day of love.

*Please keep us in your thoughts tomorrow, E is having surgery on her clogged tear duct and this mama is pretty nervous*
