Cheerios Everywhere!

Can you spot the cheerio that got away? Both girls are getting better at picking up the cereal, but getting it into their mouths is still a challenge. John's parents and grandma got here safely this afternoon and have been marveling at how much the girls have changed.

Playing with Our New Toy

I got out a new toy today that Aunt Mary gave the girls for their baptism. It is a table that has lights and music and is interactive. They loved it so much, and I liked that it is big enough they can both play on it.

Sitting and Rolling

Today we had a quiet day at home. This is a typical scene here these days. Emma is sitting up unassisted playing with something and Charlotte is rolling around her grabbing various toys, sometimes what her sister is playing with. Also note the animal print! We were stylish today.

Happy baby

Today after church John set Emma in the front seat for a minute and took a couple of pictures of her. I think this one is a great one. 

Charlotte says Hello

Here is my big girl standing up.  She likes to do this when she is helped by mom or dad.

Playing with Friends

Today we went to visit our friend Kristi's house. She has three kids three and under, so it is always fun when we go to visit. Here are Emma and Charlotte playing with her daughter Amelia, who is 9 months old. It is neat to see them interact. I am glad that we are able get out and spend time with other moms and kids.

Daddy is Home!

John came home late last night from a business trip. The girls didn't get to see him though, until he came home from work tonight. They were so glad to see him. I was thankful to have him home too. Being the only care giver for the girls for a couple of days really wore me out.

Waking up from Nap

Today we had a long nap this morning. When they finally woke up I found two happy girls. Here is Emma in the swing. It helps her to sleep longer still. Emma also sat up by her self for at least 15 minutes!



Here is Charlotte waking up from her nap. She always has her pacifier in her mouth. She had just rolled over from her tummy.

Playing

This evening we had fun playing in the play room. Both girls started next to each other but as you can see Charlotte rolled off of the quilt. She is really becoming quite a mover. Emma loved playing on her piano and was reaching for it when I went to put it away. Charlotte has also started to get the hang of playing peek-a-boo. 

Sharing

While playing, Charlotte rolled over near Emma. Emma saw her opportunity and took charlotte's toy. And so the "sharing" has started at our house. Also note the mizzou shirts!

Playing with New Toy

We had a very busy day today. This morning we went to the park to swing and slide, and then to walmart. At walmart we got the girls a couple of new toys, one of which is this tiny piano. Both girls love playing with it. I like that it has encouraged Emma to really sit up on her own. We also worked outside some, and up in the bathroom. The girls had more fun in their wagon, as well as laying outside. Charlotte had fun feeling grass. Charlotte has had another tooth come in in the last couple of days. 

Time in the Wagon

This evening we had some time after dinner and went outside to work in the yard (another plus for not having tv). The girls rode in the wagon while I trimmed bushes and raked.  They love being outside with us.

Ready for Bed

Here is Charlotte all ready for bed. This is after a bath, bottle, book, and change of pajamas. She likes to roll around in her crib until she settles on her stomach to sleep.

Doctors Appointment and Puffs

Today we had our six month doctors appointment. It went well. Dr. Sluis seemed pleased with how they are doing. We got lots of good advice for eating, sleeping and development in the next couple of months. Charlotte weighs 18lbs 3oz and is 26 1/2 inches long. Emma is 17lbs 6oz and 26 1/4 inches long. The doctor said it was ok to try giving them little puff cereal for them to try and pick up. That is what they were doing in this picture. They didn't really like how they tasted.

We love our new taggy blankets!

Charlotte and Emma love the taggy blankets that Bethany made and sent to them. They chewed and crinkled and pulled on them for a long time. What a thoughtful and kind home made gift!

Fun in our New Wagon

One of the purchases yesterday was our new wagon. John's aunt Jane help us to get it for them. It was her gift to them. We put it together today and couldn't help but take the girls for a little ride. They really liked it. 

Fun at the Festival

                  

Today we had a very busy day, including shopping, an ice cream social at church, and the Mississippi Celtic fest. Here is Emma, all smiles at the festival.  Charlotte, on the other hand, was getting sleepy. The girls did so well today and I think they had a good time. They are now tucked into bed for the night.

Six Months Old!

In the Stroller

We hung out at the park again today. It is just too nice to stay inside. The girls enjoyed sitting in their stroller and also walking around the park. Also, we went  to walmart by ourselves today, which was pretty exciting.

At the Playground

               

Yesterday we went as a family to the playground and Charlotte and Emma rode in the swing for the first time. They loved it. Both were smiling and laughing. It was so cool that the girls wore jeans and socks for the first time on months. They really looked grown up.  Hopefully the first of many fun times at the park. 

Playtime

Today was a great day at our house. We had fun playing in our highchairs this morning before our breakfast. It was such a cool day today that we were able to be outside a lot. we even went to a park this afternoon and the girls got to swing for the first time, they loved it, and I loved having John home. 

Church Outfits

Today we wore these super cute smocked outfits that Linda Valentti sent. They looked very prim and proper for church. It is very rainy here. 

Typical

We have been busy with the girls and working on the bathroom. This picture is a great example of how things are here lately. Charlotte is gearing up, getting ready to crawl, and Emma is happy holding her feet. This weekend Charlotte started rolling and didn't stop until she was at the doorway of the room!

A Walk in the Park

Today we went over to a suburb of Jackson for John to have his eyes checked and while he was doing that the girls and I took a walk in the park near his appointment. This is a picture I took of Emma. You can really see her teeth. She is also working on some more.
